No idea about Blackpool airport - but buying train tickets on the web in advance is a good idea, you should get them a lot cheaper - though you'd have no trouble getting them on the day.

Have you found a website for the airport? I'd expect a shuttle bus or something to the centre of town / train station.

Ladies & gentlemen... may I recommend a marvellous little tool called Google? Just type in "Blackpool Airport" and you are rewarded with

you my friends are very witty indeed

obviously ive tried that and ive been on the airport site which is the first place i went to to look for info but if u had of bothered looking and not trying to be humourous you would have found very little help on the site or ur new found tech bible also known to other ppl as google:mad:

i was mainly looking for ppl who have had made this journey before and who could offer some decent advice:p

Squires Gate is the nearest station, 5mns walk according to the above website.
It has a lousy service though, just one train an hour, at 57 past the hour to Preston, journey time approx 30mns. There are regular trains from Preston to Liverpool, journey time approx 65mns. Overall it will take best part of 2 hours.

Alternatively you can get a taxi to Blackpool North Station which is the main station in Blackpool, there are frequent trains from there including an hourly direct train to Liverpool at 25past the hour which takes 1h30mns approx, otherwise you can get the first train from there and connect at Preston or Wigan.

http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ for times and fares. The return fare seems to be £13.10 but you'd want to check that. There is no advantage to buying online as that train operator does not offer any advance purchase fares, just buy at the station or on the train.
