Spending over the credit limit

    I have a student credit card from AIB with a limit of 600 euro.
    I just want to know if i can spend over this limit (around 800 euro) or will AIB cancel any purchase larger than the 600 euro? (looking to buy a d-slr camera for around 700 euro)

    It will fail. Lodge a couple extra hundred onto the card so you have a positive balance.

    Yeh, as dublindude says .. "pay" extra money onto the card and this will allow you to spend more then you have.

    It's not covered if your card is stolen though.
