Second Hard drive

    I have bought a new hard drive.I wired it up corectly and it its reconised by the bios.But in my computer I cant acess it and does not apear on the list.

    How do I fix it?:eek:

    control panel - administrative tools - computer management - storage - disk management - right click on drive, format

    Does it show up on device manager?
    If so, I've the same problem, running XP off an IDE drive, added an SATA drive which I can see on device manager but not on 'My computer'.

    As posted by soupercomputer, it could be the problem.
    Xp setup only has provision for a limited amount of SATA controllers.

    When the OS disk boots, you need to hit F6 to specify drivers for your SATA controller. You will need a floppy disk to do this

    Fixed it tnx anyway.douse any1 know how to disable a nat on a eircom netopia router.
