LimeWire - not recognising Firewall

    Hi,

I use Limewire the odd time, and for some reason recently it would appear not to recognise my firewall.

I have a McAfee firewall, and for those of you familiar with LimeWire, in the bottom left corner the various icons are, one of which is a globe, and this indicates if a firewall is present. There has always been the animated 'wall' over the globe, until recent weeks, when it appears there is no firewall present. This is despite me knowing that it fully operational and working.

    Anyone experience this problem/issue?

    Cheers

    bru

My Limewire also shows there is no firewall. Despite the Zonealarm and the modem's own built-in firewall both working properly.

I'd ditch Limewire straight away for starters, its packed with hidden "goodies".

The problem may be that it has managed to overcome whatever closed ports it needed to overcome, so in essence it doesn't have to deal with any firewall.

the only application worth using for small filesharing in my opinion, and ive used them all for the last year or two is Kazaa Lite and not the normal Kazaa as thats loaded with ****e too.

    Limewire is rubbish
