Gresham Brief Report

First time in with Poker Events at the Gresham, I usually play the redcow every second week as always the event was run to perfection by Donal. There was about 47 players with a prize pool of € 3500ish.

:v: An important point which should be noted was the quality of the food at the break, Prawns, Chicken tenders (as in Eddie Rockets Style), Wedges, Fish dippers, etc... The best free spread I have seen in a while in terms of finger food anyway. :v:

The only problem with the food was that it was delivered just before the break, which lead to many hungry a man losing a blind in the quest for chicken. :D

I managed to finish 3rd when pocket 99 reraised a 50k bet All in with 74k and faced A3o.... the flop came 245, so I laughed at the fact that I prayed for no Ace and it worked, still lost, tipped the dealers and headed home a happy man with my ticket to the 500 in citywest in March.

NorwichFanRob who had a nice stack for most of the night and played some nice poker was then heads up with a regular whos name escapes me after 5 hours kip.

Fair play to poker events another quality event, which has a great location and fantastic food, so good I will be playing like a rock every week just to make sure I am around for the grub:)

    2nd 900 (400 + Ticket
    3rd 650 (150 + ticket)
    4th 400
    5th 200
    6th 150

    Well done The Gecko, Congrats!
    Unlucky with the 9's there.

The food sounds great. Sounds like the effort the S.E made food wise on their opening two weeks. But after that in the S.E the food at breaks went a little downhill. For example chicken tenders were replaced by cocktail sausages. Lets see if Poker Events can keep the food standard up.

it looks like numbers are down for pokerevents, 47 runners, im sure they expected more. i thought the gresham would of been handier for people but maybe not

Thanks Rounders, if only I was as good at dealing!!!!

I am guessing the food is more to do with the fact that its the Gresham and not Poker events so I am hopeful and will update on the quality of the food on a weekly basis..... maybe it should be a forum in its own right!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D :v:

They had 56 the first week, only 47 (or was it 46) last night, i know Donal was hoping for 70.

Right Venue. Probably the wrong night.

You have Drogheda, SE and Fitz .... all strong nights.... and similar buy-in levels i.e Same Players
(A fair few play the fitz looking for that EOM 270 ticket)

There's only X amount of live players on the circuit.

Granted I went over board on the grub, but surely its still nice to know that there is a little extra value for your cash.

No better man...I love a good consumer battle.

The Gecko,I was only pulling your leg.I am a man of simple tastes once the poker is good I would be happy with a packet of king and a can of 7up ;)

You should have been there last week, it was like a banquet, this week was quite disappointing compared to that.
Gordon, congrats on the result and cheers for the tip, I took over as dealer at the end and it lasted about 5 more hands after Donal laboured for about an hour, I was pleased with that :)

I go where the best food is. The fitz tea is always good. They seem to have the contract with the penguin bar company too.
