if it's anything like the last line-up, it should be a real horror show.

Saw it in London a few years ago, with a gang of girly friends - we laughed hysterically throughout most of it. (And were very moved by the sadder tales). I hope, if touring, it comes to Cork, as I'd definitely see it again. And knowing that some of the money from ticket sales helps various women's organisations is a big plus. J

do they have the rape scene in it? ... heard most performances don't use it anymore ... cause ... you know ... "it was a good rape"

It's a play about women who share their views about their vaginas with the audience. A recurring theme throughout the piece is the vagina as a tool of female empowerment, and the ultimate embodiment of individuality.

A rape scene? That sounds a bit inappropriate wouldn't you say?

Must be a very x-rated show if its about the vagina and that.

if you call a woman in her twenties plying a thirteen year old girl with alcohol and then taking advantage of her sexually, and then having the girl at the end say call it a "good rape" and explain she's off men for life inappropriate then that's your own look out!

    how could that be inappropriate?

If your going to go I highly recommend you go this week. One name left off that list is Norma Sheahan, seen recently in the clinic. I went last week and she steals the show. Absolutlely hilarious.

they have different actresses on every night.

anyone know what night Glenda Gilson is on again?

I went last thursday with my girlfriend and it was Fenella Fielding, Norma Sheehan and Anna Nolan (big brother 1). its very good but a bit skirmish if you are a fella

Saw this show before with a group of girls from work - it was excellent. Brilliant piece of work.

So funny though as there was a young couple and she had brought her parents along with them and you should have seen the sour faces and downright disgust that they had on their faces, it was so funny.

Plenty of guys there too, got talking to some of them afterwards and they said they really enjoyed it.

I have never heard of this show, and am merrily asking more about it. My opinions is being solely based on what i have read here so far.

If you have a problem with that then "THAT'S YOUR LOOK OUT!!!"

Maybe next time you won't be so fast to critise someone with little or no knowledge of the topic in question! And yes I would call that somewhat inappropriate!

How does that work? (I can't go see this as I am not in Dublin).

They just do different dialogues and pieces and it all surrounds women and their vaginas. Do a piece on short skirts - its very funny Simu!! I didn't see it in Dublin so I presume that different theatre groups do it around the country.

The Vagina Monologues.... Just another example of women who can't keep their lips shut...

    That's a joke BTW...

this show is all about a womans vagina. the main theme is that people dont talk about Vaginas at all so this show makes up for it! from memory the play opens with
"we were worried. worried about vaginas"

the best bit is where everyone in the audience has to scream "C**T" at the top of their voice. I have never heard a 60 year old woman shout C**T before until I saw this play!

If this were about penises (which get mentioned once in the play - unavoidable) I dont think anyone would be bothered going as penises get so much more coverage that vaginas!!

in my opinion, a penis can never get enough coverage.
