    Hi all,

I just found out that eircom can't put a phone line into our new estate for up to 8 months.....arrrgghhh.

So I have a friend who live about 800m away who's willing to share his internet connect with me.

He's got a wireless setup in his house using the stander netopis round from eircom.
I've got a netgear 834G wireless router setup in my house...

Whats needed so we could see each other network. Is it as simple and putting a stronger antenna into my wifi router to extend it range.

    Any help would be great.
    Thanks,
    Chris

anybody have a CB3 wireless AP.
I've been told this might be able to do the job over about 1km.
But I would love to try first rather than buy. :D

I'm too far away I'm afraid. Also, you will most likely need two of these, one at each end, to set this up correctly, especially if your trying to get up to 1K.

You would need line of sight, with nothing in the way and an external antenna.

Check out Irishwan.org They have loads of info, and loads of knowledgeable people who should be able to advise you.
