Hoping somebody can give me a few good suggestions on some good & remote camping locations, never quite saw the point of official camping sites. Looking to get as far away from any other people/built up areas/roads to de-stress for a night or two. Recently got access to a car, figured it would be a shame not to travel around and do a bit of hiking/camping while I have the chance.

Was flicking through a few OSI maps trying to find some good places. Trying to find a place that..
(1) Is remote with nice hiking trail, near fresh water & woodland.
(2) A starting point where I could safely park the car. (would be a long walk home)
(3) some nice scenery.

Have already gotten a few suggestions, but any more would be greatly appreciated. And there's no need to worry about anything being left behind, am a firm supporter of the 'leave no trace' initiative.

If you are leaving a car overnight tell the local Gardai or the local mountain rescue where, why and for how long so they know you're overnighting intentionally and not lost (thus starting a search & rescue effort).
