Hello all this is my first time writing here.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the taekwondo club in DCU, there was one there last year i think they were called National taekwondo ireland, i checked to see if they were stil there but they seem to be gone, I got their website and it looks as if they are closed up as it hasn't been ungraded in about 2 years or something. Is there any other taekwondo clubs in DCU or surrounding area?

    Thanks all
    Dave Heddigan

    Hi,

I'm not a member of the club nor am i a student in the University but I assume it's similar to my own in that, the club is only available to students and alumni. i wouldn't worry too much about the website not being regularly updated, may not be a sign of anything.

Try and get an email address or number for the captain and give them a shot.

If you're not a student there (which I assume you're not) there are tonnes of TKD clubs and similar around DCU, I'd recommend you go down to Roper's gym ( a poster her) in Glasnevin (about 5mins drive from dCu) website http://wwww.ko-martialarts.com/

check back here a bit more i'm sure someone else will give you further/better (!) info.

    I strongly agree.

Roper's a cool guy and a good coach. He hosted the Boards.ie Meet and Train. Went very well.

    Three thumbs up!;)

    Dae Han,

I strongly disagree with the lads comments above. I'm not a good coach, I'm a great coach, and they didn't mention how handsome I am.;)

Anyway, we're just a short walk from DCU like the lads said, we have Taekwondo/Kickboxing 2 nights a week and also a submission wrestling/BJJ group one night per week (for the moment, soon to be two hopefully!).

If you're interested, drop down Tuesdays or Fridays for a class (free!) or give me a buzz 085-8320174

Thanks Barry, what days do you do the BJJ? are you affiliated with SBG?

    Sorry for the delay Dave.
Bjj is on Friday evenings 8-9pm. There's about 5 of us for the moment and more or less everyone is a beginner at the moment so feel free to pop down. And yeah we are an Affiliated training group with SBG.

Next class is on Tuesday (for TKD) at 7.45 so feel free to pop down.
