Theres loads of threads for suggestions but what are you actually going to buy or what have you already bought? Me and my boyf are not big into V-day but he is a huge liverpool fan and was gutted to have missed seeing Liverpool vs Luton so I managed to buy him a dvd of the match on ebay

That's pretty cool. Unless of course you were the cause of him missing the match in the first place, in which case you owed him. :)

She said to me yesterday that she didn't want a card as she doesn't believe in them. She also said that she didn't want me to buy anything either.:)

This was totally unsolicited. I hadn't even mentiomned it. However if I follow her instructions to the letter and get absolutely nothing, something in the back of my head tells me that is exaxctly what I will be getting on Tuesday night.

    Buy or no buy?

Is there a possibility she doesnt have that much cash, and was just asking you not to exchange gifts?

So it is a no cash issue? then I can kinda see her point. she will be a little upset to have to see the day pass, so a small gesture at least will cheer her up ;)

    congrats re engagement btw

I wouldnt buy much more than some roses, and some decent candles. hows your culinary skills? ;)

No prob, but I wouldnt buy much more than some roses, and some decent candles. hows your culinary skills? ;)
Without wishing to boast, my culinary skills are excellent, a fact she is well aware of. While living overseas for a few years (10 in all) I soon realised that this seemed to impress any female invited to my place so I naturally taught myself as much as I could.;) A proper home cooked meal or a bag of chips. No contest really.

Just thinking about the candles. She is into candles and last week I bought her one of those presentation cases with scented candles in it. Why oh why did I not just keep it until Tuesday?? Doooohhhhhh

Sounds like you have the makings of a romantic evening there :)
Does she work? is it possible that you could get home before her?
wouldnt it be nice to put tea lights all over the bathroom for her, when she walks in the door, run the bath for her, while theres something nice in the oven :D Grab some new candles, and you are sorted :v:

    http://www.uk.thebodyshop.com/web/tbsuk/indexTiles.jsp?tbsmain=products_overview&curr_category=TBSUK_well_being&subcatID=TBSUK_wellbeing_ylang_ylang

Body shops ylang ylang products are on it.
and if you believe in aphrodisiac's ylang ylang is supposed to be one.
There is a bath essence in there too ;)

Ylang Ylang smells divine, but it's an aquired smell, I know some people who hate it.

Dammit I want to smell ylang ylang now..I tihnk I have some upstairs \o/

    Valentine's a silly holiday.

I've used it in an oil burner too. its true, you will either love it or hate it.
If you like the smell I think it really works too ;)

I don't really think its a silly holiday per se, just that with over commercialisation people forget what its really about. Most people spend the whole year round working their arses off to pay mortgages and other bills and dont have the energy to do something thoughtful for their partner. I think thats the point of Vals day tbh. imo, no expensive gifts should be exchanged - just thoughtful gestures.
