Oh I forgot to mention, the glass tipping video that we recorded at Charleville. Somewhere in the editing stage Monkeyfudge added a completely alien sound track to it...you've got it hosted so you might wanna remove the sound or ask MF for the original or something.

EDIT: Oh, one last thing: You have all the text pre saved as image files? It works, but its a really wierd way to do a webpage, and it also means that the text can't be highlight or copied etc.

The one on mym site was my version of it, no alien sound track i'm afraid

I am using a program called Freeway Pro, it hard codes everything. I ahve to learn Dreamweaver or GoLive but until then it will be as an image. Still i think it will do for now.

There's no way of getting Freeway Pro to export text? That's really annoying as load times are increased, also bad for Google searches.

Dude, the "glass tipping" video on your site has foreign street sounds playing over the first half of it.

    This one: http://www.6thsensitive.com/downloads/glasstipping.mov

Jesus, how did I not notice that?!?!?

Edit: I've looked over it quickly, it was a clean tape and i have no other videos on my machine with those noises .... no dont worry i aint making claims i'm sure i'll figure it out. Though what do you think it sounds like? all thats clear is the creeky door noice?

I always have the sound turned right down on my computer (joys of having a baby at home) I wasnt expecting anything on the sound so i didnt bother listening to it, just watched it - lazy i know. will have to watch it directly from the tape and copy it onto the mac again later.

    btw: "a truck"?

Its definately street sounds. Its like someone went out onto O'Connell street with a mike and recorded a randomn thirty seconds.

Maybe it accidently got recorded over it on the way home from Charleville?

The wierd this is that the original sound track plays over it, both are present.

EDIT: Upon further investigation it would appear that wind rumble is clearly audible on the foreign track, meaning the mike had to be out and exposed when the sound was recorded, meaning it couldnt have been sitting in a bag or what not. Wierd.

Its only a sony miniDV TRV14E so it cant record sound only, so if i recorded over it on the way home surely the video would be gone. Like i said I'll play the original tape straight from the camera if its not on that then it got corrupt some how on the computer, if it is on the tape then I'm lost!
i'm sure its explainable so i wont go calling it EVP just yet lol

But can anyone else hear the creeking door? its the loudest thing on it.

Yeah, I heard that too. Thats is kinda odd.

What program did you use to edit the footage? If it has some sort of special effects package you might have accidently added the sounds?

It was iMovie on a mac, I can add sound all right but the fact is i couldnt do it by accident. I'm sure i'll figure it out when i get home tonight. If its on the tape though I'm gonna have to quesstion it a bit more.

Sorry for the slow response and more sorry because i havent fully checked it out.

I've checked the original clips imported onto my computer and the sound is as per the clip on my site http://www.6thsensitive.com/videos.html

Unfortunately I have not dug out the origibal minidv tape of the glass tipping, I have the awful habit of not marking up any tapes i make. This time round at Charleville on the 15th April I will definately be alot more maticulous with my documenting. I will dig it out the original tape at some stage.

If anyone has any images or video clips they would like to be hosted on the site just send me a mail and i'll pop them up with the relevant credits.

This image was spotted by a boardsie on the Hellfire Club footage on my site.

Where as i'm sure its just a play of shadow or light, its interesting to see what other people notice.

So then the sounds on the Charleville video from the earlier investigation must be EVP? Wonder is there any on the new tapes? Can't wait! :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

Who said they were evp on the last trip? we've already decided that there could very well be a normal explaination for it.

Remember the V in eVp is for voice ... didnt hear one on any tapes.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 599 ✭✭✭New_Departure06

Ok. Could you try a seance next time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

was going to try one before but the last couple of times the place has had alot of people running around. I'm sure we will do one soon at some location, though i think Charleville is out until after the summer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

I just checked it again... the footage you have on your site with the street sounds is definitely the one I shot and hurriedly converted to quicktime... making a balls of it in the process.

I hosted it on my site on the 27th of September.
    http://monkeyfudge.com/glasstipping.mov

The reason you don't have the tape is because it was one of mine... it's sitting in my drawer beside me.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 599 ✭✭✭New_Departure06

There are a number of banging noises in the Automatic Writing movie. Did you hear those sounds during the session? Are we sure that there wasn't a similar mixup as with the aforementioned movie?

Due to a turn of events, I won't actually be able to hold an investigation at Charleville till September. I'm officially homeless for a month during my transition period from one uni to the other... tenancy expires 19th of August, I cannot get a new one till the 23rd (if I am lucky, I can get one a week or two before), so I'm switching my plans to accommodate this, meaning I'll be in Ireland for an entire month... lol

Regarding recordings, to get back on topic... my one turned out to be not so good really... though there are a few interesting activity spikes all the same... ones which I can't really explain atm, due to lack of knowledge of what was going on around the area at those times. However, I do know that there were people nearby at quite a few points...

I'm going to make sure that this time, we have the castle to ourselves, and no one else!

Before you try Automatic Writing or a seance, remember to ask the spirits to communicate with you. I didn't hear anyone beseech them to do so which may help explain the absence of coherent writing from them. Tell them "We would like to ask any spirit beings or astral beings here to make contact. Use our energies to give us a sign/write something for us using this automatic-writing device we have our hands on. We promise we mean you no harm.". You need to win their trust.

I have to say my favourite bit about the site is the link symbols.......the keyholes! Very nice!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

Cheers and now the text comes up as text so people what don't see so good can make it bigger!

Site still looks great imo but just a few things

The underlined section about upcoming events - underlined bits on sites usually means you can click on them - I would have this as another link into the investigations section (also saves you having the same info twice)

The Gallery - I wouldn't split it in two. 'Media' to me suggests media reports of things you've done - not video clips. I would leave it in the gallery. Oh and I assume you know all the photos do not load.

Gallery - I would assume you would be able to double click the photos to make them bigger too.

Looks great though, better without the banner across the top

    Ladybird:)

Yeah I just copied and pasted text across while I sort out what goes on what - point taken about underlined text.

The Media section is actually the download section for radio interviews and video clips. As for the Gallery, am going to keep it all just still images and i know they dont all load.
Gallery - I would assume you would be able to double click the photos to make them bigger too.

Some of the older shots where taken on my old camera and the files arent that big so they dont get much clearer than the size they are.
Looks great though, better without the banner across the top

Cheers, thats only my test site though. The old site is still working away at the proper adress til i get everything sorted.

Also any point me having like a guestbook on it?

    6th wrote:

Personally I wouldn't, I think it has more gravitas without it. depends what you're trying to achieve with it though, is it just for enthused ametuers to say hi or what? If it's for people to say hi/ask a meaningful question they have all your contact details. You don't really want to be scrolling through loads of posts all saying ' cool site/cool name' do you?

Unless you want chicks of course, but I think guestbooks are a bit 'myspace.com' if you know what I mean.

also given that you have no banner across the top could you make your 6th sensitive icon bigger/make it stand out more. It's very well done so you should make the most of it, maybe even watermark it on the page or something. (ok now my head's gone into overdrive - I.T. nerd or what)

    Ladybird:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

Ok no to the guest book but I think I will have the option to submit a mail directly from the site?

    Anyway more tweaks HERE.
