Men and women; two different races?

Sigh. You are attempting to make a mockery of me, and seem the more intelligent person in this debate, however, yes, men and women could technically be described as two different races. I will agree that gender would be a more apt word to use, however a race is defined as a group of people with unique physical characteristics. I would imagine that therefore, as men and women, although much the same, do have definining characteristics which make them seperate genders, that they could be distinguished as a seperate race.

I have said, that yes, gender would be more appropriate in this context, yet the way in which I was taught about "races" in Science, concluded that men and women could be defined as seperate races.

If someone can produce some professionally written text on why they cannot be deemed so, I will consider that I may be wrong, but for now, I stand by what I have said and my opinion.

Please do prove me wrong, and I do not wish to sound arrogant here, as I would like to be able to be sure of what I said for future reference.

Look, it's been done countless times before, the moderators have locked your previous thread on the subject, starting a new one is just going to annoy more people and get you banned at some point. If you want to go all out, I suggest a thread in Feedback complaining about your treatment here.

I do quite well on my own actually, no need to rally support up for me.

Scientifically you may be able to classify the opposite genders as different "races", if you wanted to be very pedantic about it, the fact of the matter is no one would ever do it. You dont seperate genders of the same (general) race as seperate races.

Not to get too complicated, but if you were to call women one race and men another, then you'd be taking away the difference that we would normally seperate races by. You'd have ALL women (Black,White, Asian, Hispanic etc...) as one race and ALL men as another.
Think about that for a second and then decide which approach makes more sense and seems more "right".

If an Asian man and an Asian woman have children, they can be either male or female, but will still be Asian.

If an African man and an Asian woman have children, they can be either male or female, but will be considered mixed race.

If an Asian man and an Asian woman have children, they aren't going to be African are they?

And in any case men and women are different species, not different races.
