    What did people think?

I loved it but I thought they definitley shot themselves in the foot by playing "Skin of My Country..." and "Over and...." so close to the start, considering they're probably the best on the album. They didn't seem to be really enjoying it at times and they're wasn't much talking between songs, if anything they lead singers back was turned to the crowd at every possible chance.
New songs they played sounded great though.

Support act Dr.Dog were brillaint, very suprised.

wasnt there myself. bought the album over the weekend.
listened to it last nite twice. good album.
first 4 or 5 are great bit of a dip in the middle of the album though.
    singer has a good voice-different.

Thought the band were great, performed very well. To be honest, wether the band enjoy themselves at a gig is of little consequence to me and makes no impact on my night - as long as they are playing well!!

How long did they play for, 70 minutes? Not bad considering they only have the 1 album. Like the new stuff they played as well. And the support were class alright. Biggest gripe of the night was the venue. Just dont like the Village, especially when its absolutely packed to the gills as it was on Saturday.

All in all, well worth the 14 euro ticket price!

Pretty much agree with the first post. I was also quite surprised by the new material being pretty damn good. In fact as I feel their original stuff takes a bit of getting into Id wager that the new stuff may be even considered better.

However I thought that Dr. Dog were awful.

Really enjoyed the gig - would have been better if the place wasn't packed to the rafters but still had a really great time. I too was surprised that they threw out Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth so early in the night, thought that would be the last song of the night to really finish on a high.

Although, having said that, I thought they did a great cover of Helpless to wrap up on.

I quite liked the support band - thought the lead singer looked like Dr. Teeth from the Muppets!

Didn't stay around for long afterwards - much better craic to be had down in Wax last Saturday.

Thought it was a super performance from CYHSY in recreating their music but as for the reasons outlined in the first post, it was a poor gig.

The crowd were never brought into it at all and the band looked uninterested most of the time.

Still Dr Dog were outstanding and their album has been on non-stop play for me ever since :)

I thought the one of the Dr Dog singers looked like Zoot from the muppets... and i thought they were pretty good fun too.

Was a bit pissed the clap didn't play details of the war, or if they did i somehow missed it.
Over the performance was good but a bit short and they looked kinda bored...

ya i got that too, i wonder is it just the venue though?

on the plus side the village is a great place for meeting the bands afterwards, we were down by the t shirt stand most of the night and both dr dog and Clap your hands came down afterwards so we were able to chat to them, good craic actually. happened me before a few times there..

Someone was telling me that after the gig he was talking to one of them and he asked why they didn't, they forgot the harmonica they need so decided not to play it at all!

Same guy bought one of the band a guinness and he quipped the Guinness over here reminded him of the Arctic Monkeys…… Everyone told him it was gonne be great, and he was really looking forward to tasting it but when he actually did, he couldn’t help but be disappointed. :D

Top class gig though, saw them play during summer, they've improved stage presence if you can believe it!
