    Hey,

Anybody know who the crowd were that decended onto the streets of Waterford city today walking on the main road asking for money for some Cancer Society? There was over a 100 of them, some had some ride-on-lawnmores? I wouldnt give them a penny, they all looked really dodgy and even the van that was driving around with the loudspeaker looked dodgy!

Whats most annoying is, EVERYWHERE you went they were in your face asking for money. On the roads, there were SEVERAL on the same stretch of the road taping on windows asking for money etc.

Im sure if it was dodgy that Gardai would of told them where to go, but nothing was said.

    Anybody know anything??

I had heard some thing last week about a group of people doing a lawn-mower trip across Munster ( presumably for some charity ) but no definite information.

Some chap in Kerry or Clare is recovering from cancer and he came up with the idea of travelling around Munster on lawnmowers to raise funds for cancer charities .
Its all above board as I remember hearing about it on the radio the other day and they were telling people when it was coming into waterford City .

Hey kid, no need for the personal abuse,

In fairness their's more productive ways of raising money for somebody.....
Knocking on car windows on a main road is only going to piss people off and you'll end up getting less money.

Do you include chuggers in that, because I never feel guilty about not giving anything to chuggers? :D

"Twisted old farts"? LOL. Im not that old.

Dodgy people collecting money = not a good sign. Why? You could be "donating" money to a false cause.

They are incredibly annoying. Several times asking you for money. I wouldnt give a penny to them, god knows where it goes.

I have money (well more than I did when I was a student) but really, I prefer to give money to the charities I like best when and where I want. Bit selfish really, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who does that.
