I'm surprised this tourney hasn't been mentioned on the forum before. 9500 Starting chips and a 30 minute clock. Excellent tournament.

Anyway. Down to 18 from what I think was about 50 starters. 7 places pay. I am second in chips with 51K. Blinds are 1K/2K.Average stack is probably about 25K.

The villain in this hand is a terrible player but at the moment he is third in chips in the tournament. Earlier I saw him limp in EP with Q-2o and push 20K into a 4.5K pot on a queen high flop and was lucky enough to be called by a flush draw and win. He's likely to play any paint or any 2 suited cards and basically anything that might make straight even fora large raise. Before this hand he also called a large UTG all in when defending his BB with 2-5 soooted. :)

I am in the BB with 8-To. Villain limps in MP, SB completes, I check.

Flop is 5-4-Q rainbow. We all check.

Turn is an 8 copleteing the rainbow. SB checks I bet 5K. Villain calls and the SB folds. At this point I put Villain on a stronger 8 probably A8/K8 which is why when another 8 lands on the river I check but now he decides to go all in!!! I have villain covered by 9.5K. Call or fold?

Where's the dilemma if this is the case? He may have been slowplaying something even better like pocket queens or a made straight on the turn.

A chap from the North. I don't remember his name, nor did I know the chap who was 2nd. I came 3rd. Ricky Cosgrove (The Choppper) was 4th. Derek his brother (Kobraki) was 5th. Jude Ainsworth was also at the final table.

Gona leave this one up for debate for a while. I'm heading off to catch a train for Dublin in an hour.

could he of been slowplaying 67 on the turn? and then making it out to be a steal hoping that you have an 8

I said that's what I put him on after he called me on the turn but how likely is he he to go all in on the river wanting me to call?

I agree nicky, when you both check the turn and then you check the river, he, to me is taking it as a sign of weakness and throwing in a huge bet yo get you off the hand, rather than, I have the nuts call me.

    Hope you called :D

I havn't played too mcuh live poker of late, but pushing with the nuts is absolutely commonplace this weather online. I've seen people pushing monster stacks with quads, nut straights, nut flushes etc and regularly getting paid off.

The mentality of many people seems to be "he can't be pushing with the nuts because he should be trying a milking bet to extract the max amount".

I didn't know if this guy would also push with a monster, but he has already demonstrated will can push with TPNK so its safe to assume his range is off the charts.

I think based on the villain in this case, then a call is probably the right move as his play seems quite erratic and he'd probably push here with BP NK.

twice this week I've blown big chip leads in live tourneys getting involved with stacks that can hurt me by going against my first instinct. I called and he had A8. Same player went out 11th. Don't ask me how I managed to claw my way into 3rd.

I really should check this tournament out. For some reason I've had mixed reports about the place.
