foreign names for English/US Films

Hi

anyone know how I can find out the foreign names for english films,
for example "One flew over the cuckoos nest " is "Alguien volvo...."
something in Spanish,
Im looking for "K-9" in Spanish, it's a gift, (or Catalan would be perfect)

google has been useless in this matter

Have you tried www.imdb.com?
If you type the name into the search engine, all alternative names come up.

the translations can be a bit mad; for example 'the whole 9 yards' in frnech is 'mon voisin, leTueur' which translates as my neighbour the killer!

That's because of the metric system Just remember: A Royale with cheese



jcf: there doesn't even seem to be Spanish subtitles available (on DVDs or to download for DivX/Xvid) for K-9, let alone a Spanish title

actually ive noticed when watching friends with french subtitles the metric system is used in a few cases...eg when joey is talkin bout a ferry, he says oh they go round 5 miles a hour, but the french is 8km/Hr , see how im learning :cool:

Its ok i found it on El corte ingles, its also called K9

and has Spanish , German and English Audio and Subtitles.

In Sweden, "Swingers" is called "Du, var är brudarna?" which means "Hey, where are the chicks?" Which is a WAY better name than "Swingers".

I was in Brazil last year and I found the film titles to be fairly sensible translations.

Are there any odd ones that I should know about?
