    Hello all,
I know this has been covered before but rather than go into specific instances, just how much violence would you have to see before you gave a hand?

None, I'd just ring the gardai!

I should mention that this is a secret vote. And that it's multiple choice.

I'd ring the gardai in all of those instances and would probably intervene where necessary in my eyes (as in where I could be a help rather than a hindrance). The best thing you can do for the victim is to call the gardai first and then decide whether intervention is necessary

I'd help the woman in both cases. The guy if he was mugged depends if they are beating him up, and if a guy is outnumbered, depends if me helping him will actually help him.

Dive straight in John or call the police?

My thinking would be that unless the intervention is urgent x 10 you'd want the police there so that if you failed the person could still be helped rather than two victims and no cavalry on the horizon.
