What mobile phones do you like?

Motorola, Nokia, Ericsson, or something else?

I just got an Ericsson 520i upgrade from O2 for only 29eur. I guess you
get what you pay for cos it is crap!! :D

Can anyone suggest a decent phone for less than 200eur?

For anyone interested, the 520i has these problems:

    The signal is very shaky
The phone is very small - I've dropped it twice
The buttons are tiny and close together - texts are a nightmare!
The camera keeps going off itself - the camera button is a hair-trigger!
I can't send/receive pics (this can hopefully be fixed)

The thread will probably get moved for ya - I've a SE myself, its a K700i. Pretty decent fone I think. You need to get in touch with your network to enable pic msg settings and email etc.

Is the signal ok on the k700i? Any idea why the 520i has a poor
signal - is it just a cheap, crappy model?

About 50% of the calls I make, the signal keeps breaking up and
driving me/the other person crazy  My old Nokia 3510i had
    a great signal

I have a bill with O2. My Nokia worked ok with them but the battery is
knackered - I'm thinking of getting another battery for it if I can't find
    a decent new phone.

Yeah I have had 2 and they were damn good! The basic phone
was always fine even if you don't get many extra features. I
am sorry I took the ericsson cos they offered me a Nokia too.
I was wowed by all the gadgets and made a bad decision! :(

Nokia... Solid as a rock, never had a problem with one. The battery on one I had before (a 3310) went but that's because it was 4 years old... can't really expect more tbh.

Have a 3510i now (for about 2 years) and it's been thrown across rooms, sat on, stepped on, thrown out a window onto a concrete ground (acidentally) and generally had the crap kicked out of it and the worst that's happened to it has been a cracked screen cover. Which was replaced by just buying a new cover. Otherwise it's in perfect condition.

My mam has a nokia 3100 which has a similar story to tell.

Motorola phones... maybe they've improved in the last six months but various other members of my family have been buying them for the last few years and not one of them has survived more then three months without some of the basic functionality failing. (broken screens (leaking LCDs), severe battery problems, dodgy charge circuitry, etc). Having said that, my brother just got another one a few weeks ago and it feels far more solid/resiliant then it's predecessors... so maybe they've changed in recent months.

No experience with Sony Ericsson phones so can't comment on them.

I've a SE V800, the last few phones I've had were SEs, so obviously I favour Sony Ericsson :p

Two points here - firstly if its a new fone it shouldn't need a new battery. possibly a faulty one?

Secondly, if you are on the bill and only have it a short while - it can be replaced without question.

1st choice has to be a Nokia...with Sony Ericssons's being the only other phones worth considerin really

An Eric clam shell that broke my heart but then clams are a bit like the Shuttle .... too many bits hanging off each :( ....

A Noki 3310 that's still working ok after all this time .... :)

A Moto E770v that's flying it, but it's only 2 months old so time will tell ...
