There's an interesting IMO, photo op coming up soon in Dublin. Its the... Love Ulster march in Dublin, supposed to happen on the 25th of this month. It'll be controversial with various protesting against Unionist & Orangemen marching in Dublin but it should make for an interesting subject matter. Anyone interested in documenting/photographing this event?

That's exactly what they'd love you to do, a bit more publicity for them.

I did have the same thoughts of doing some sort of photo shoot of the march, but then I got to thinking. Having been right in the thick of an Orange march up North one time, the type of people who normally partake in them are not very savoury in the slightest. I was taking some documentary-style shots of the event, just for myself, and was told to put the camera away (as those who I was shooting didn't want their faces being recorded in such a way). Just remember, these people are some of the most extreme right-wing loyalists. Expressing their culture, my arse.

Sorry for getting political, but then that's what it's all about, isn't it?

    B.

NB: "Love Ulster" is not a NI Tourist Board project :-)

Taking pictures doesn't mean you agree or disagree with their political ideas. I might check it out anyway, will bring my cam if I do.

Maybe we could make a group for this on flickr and we all post our photos.

i think if a group of loyalists attacked a civilian amature photopgrapher, they would be plenty of people to break it up:D

I'll most likely be about, see if I can get some nice shots...

Tbh honest though, if there's hassle...I'll be gone like a shot.

And taking out my 70-300mm ;)
