Money to invest

    Hi,

A 'friend' has 50k to invest. She doesn't really want to buy property and she wants to have reasonable access to the money in the case of ever needing it. Are there any good products out there that would give a good return on this money, that is reasonably safe ? Investment period would be long to longish (5-20 years)

    thx
    cambo

Most unit linked funds should suit her needs, although there is no guarantee that the capital is safe.

She needs to balance the risk/return ratio - If she restricts herself to products which guarantee no loss in capital, she will be limiting herself to low returns. She really should consider risking some part of this sum (depending on her overall financial position) to improve her return.
