I want to go to see Adler's Appetite in Whelan's next Saturday, but it's a "ID Required, Strictly Over 18s" venue and I'm only 16. What are the chances they'll just let my friends and I just walk in? Any advice?

Yeah, they always check for I.D. and Im 24. Stay for the nightclub after the gig if you do manage to get in. Its not a techno nightclub, plays punk, indie, grunge whatever! Its always packed and a deadly atmosphere.:D

if by punk, indie, grunge you mean james blunt, then yeah i agree with you :v:

Whelans is such a complete joke of a venue, it actually puts me off going to see bands i like that are playing there...

hmm... So I'd better look into getting an ID then, I don't look particularly old, don't look young either, but I don't think I'd pass as 18 at a strict venue...

the (only) good thing about whelans is that, regardless of whether a gig is ticketed or not/sold out or not, they always have a small amount of tickets on sale at the door(if you arrive early enough), so i'd advise going there and buying the entrance fee/ticket at the door, at least that way if you get refused entry you wont have wasted money on a ticket

The only thing that stop whelans from being great is how packed they let it get especially on Saturday.Fook me, if we ever have to get out quickly there will be chaos. No complaints about the music..never heard blunt played once tbh

Really? That sounds good, thanks! It says it starts at 8, so if I show up around 7 I should be able to buy one?
