Hmmm, depends on what exactly you mean by 'good'.

There are several mini-mods out there which alter the way BF2 feels, changing some of the weapons rate of fire and tank armour for example, but there aren't any major mods that make the game look different.

you wont get mods a-la Source mods because DICE/EA never released the engine or an sdk to the world. probably because it's got quite a few bugs sitting around
