Have just recently moved into a house. The house has a double extension with a flat roof. Would I need to get planning permission to integrate the extension roof into the rest of the house?

    Hi,

In most cases Permission is not needed but it may be safer to apply for a Certificate of Exemption which keeps the title of the house up to date.

There are times when changing from a flat to a pitched roof can interfere with the light to neighbouring properties.

A phone call to your local planning office or a meeting with an Architect will give you more accurate information.
