As a total tech novice on a very tight budget, I desperately need advice on the best bb/telephony options available.
Am setting up a small home office for two people, there will be heavy national call usage (mainly landlines) and continual Internet use during working hours. Availibility shouln't be a prob - based in the Arbour Hill, area Dublin 7.
Basically I need to know what is the cheapest BB provider. Would I be better to go with a provider who does both BB and calls or go seperately. There are currently two inactive Eircom lines installed in the house.
Would it be a better idea to go Voip such as Blueface - I do need total reliability though as it is a business and do bear in mind, we are complete tech clueless
    Thanks!

See if smart telecom is in the area i've used blueface, but you need a line with very low latency.

    Yes agree Smart,
    3Mb for €35 (i.e. €11 + €24 line rental)
    have good call rates too.

Checkout Blueface for even better deal on calls,
takeup their free trial (best if you can get an ATA or IP phone for proper test)

Can setup Blueface to divert to Smart if there is a problem with the service.

See if you can get NTL BB. Again I would recommend Blueface too.

If no NTL try Smart. NTL is over cable and only in limited areas. I know it is available in parts of D7.

If neither are an option try BT.

As paulm said NTL, followed by Smart, followed by BT.

BT offer a package of 1m BB + line rental for €35 or 2m + line rental for €40

I think you can add the BT talk package for another €20. Talk gives you unlimited local and national landline calls at anytime of the day for free, so it would be ideal for you.

Unfortunately no one's tested smart yet.
