    Hi Guys, Ive been offered an iMac very cheaply but there is a problem with the monitor and it is out of warrenty. Can anyone advise me as to whether or not its worth my while picking this up or will Apple just stonewall me for getting it fixed? Dave

    you could buy your own display which would probably be pointless as you'd be tapping into the money saved in the first place..

    apple could possibly repair the monitor for you which could also cost more than the monitor itself... (i got quoted 650sterling to repair a laptop screen)

    look, there are plenty of perfectly working, great looking 2nd hand or refurbished imacs available on ebay and the apple store.. your best option is to pick one of those up..

    Hey Man, Cheers for that, and your right there are quite a few but non as hig spec for the same price. Anywho the only reason I want to get a Mac is to try it out and esp the video editing software. Can you reccomend anything? Im assuming I could buy maybe an old G3 put OS X on it and give IMovie a whirl but Ive no idea about Macs. PDD
