In 2002 Hotbird7 was destroyed shorly after launch:
An Ariane 5 ECA failed shortly after launching Hot Bird 7 and Stentor. The rocket was launched from Kourou, Pad ELA3, at 22:21 UTC on December 11, plunging into the Atlantic 800 to 1,000 km from the launch site.

Hopefully the replacement launch will be succesfull. It will probabily be covered live on an ESA/Eutelsat feed channel @13E

    UPCOMING LAUNCHES

    HOT BIRD™ 7A
HOT BIRD™ 7A will be equipped with 38 Ku-band transponders for television broadcasting to cable and DTH homes. It will replace HOT BIRD™ 1 and provide back-up and replacement capacity for HOT BIRD™ 2, 3 and 4. The satellite is due to be launched on 21st February 2006.

    HOT BIRD™ 8
With 64 transponders that can be operated simultaneously, HOT BIRD™ 8 is the largest satellite yet ordered by Eutelsat. Its mission is to accompany HOT BIRD™ 7A into raising in-orbit sparing at 13 degrees East to a level where it can maintain its reputation as one of the most secure multi-satellite video neighbourhoods.

As 13E still does have some spare capacity, it won't directly result in new channels

BBC World TV on Hotbird @13E analog is close in April

    Frequency: 12,597 MHz
    Beam: Wide
    Polarisation: Vertical
    FEC: 3/4
    Symbol Rate: 27.5 Msym/sec

BBC World is also available in digital format free-to-air from the Astra 1E satellite at 19.2° East with the following parameters:

    Frequency: 11,597 MHz
    Beam: Wide
    Polarisation: Vertical
    FEC: 5/6
    Symbol Rate: 22 Msym/sec

Hotbird is better as it has Teletext.
