    You may have more luck in the Gardening / DIY forum, especially if you give your location and the size of the place you need done.

    Hi,

    I got 100 sq feet of solid laid about two years ago for €450 hard cash in Kerry. Expect to pay 3 to 4 times that now.

    More importantly, get advice on acclimatisation. I had to have the wood in the house for a week or two before laying. If I didn't and laid it straight from warehouse, it would have warped. I'd imagine it may be the same for semi-solid.

    there is a website I came across recently called www.homewise.ie where they are loads of carpenters listed. some are rated and reviewed by users who have used particular people already so that helps a lot as at least you have some idea what they are like. I used a guy called Dave Heffernan who was listed and reviewed and he was brill
