Can anyone tell me is it possible to divert or forward my emails from work to home. Basically I have been out sick and want to recieve my emails at home without causing any fuss at work. We use outlook express, is there some simple setting i can change as i am def not very technical.

Try Tools > Message Rules > Mail
There's an option in there to forward.

Does your employer have any kind of remote access solution, such as ras dial-in or VPN through the internet, or even webmail? If so this would be much handier.
Since you use outlook express, I get the impression that you don't use Exchange for your mail system, so it is more likely that you use a standard POP3/IMAP system. If it is just the case that you download your work mail from a pop3 server somewhere, you could configure outlook express (or whatever other email client you like) on your own PC and download mail from it that way.
