    Hi,
I have a 2003 mini that I want to import to the US. Apparently bringing a car into the US isn't as easy as it seems, there are strict requirements on paperwork, emissions, etc.
Has anyone ever shipped a car stateside or knows of a company in Ireland that does.

    Cheers,
    MFS.

Never would have thought the americans wouldhave been very bothered about emissions. Would'nt have thought anything under 4 litre would register on theirgive-a-crap-o-metre.

Correct me if I am wrong but as cars are much cheaper in the US than over here, would it not be easier to sell the car here and buy a similar model over there cheaper and pocket the difference? Plus the US car will already be LHD.

Almost certainly. For what a 2003 mini would fetch here, you could buy a new one over there.
