Im starting a band! and i want people to go through hell with me!
I have written a lot of my own songs and come up with a lot of album artwork because I am an (accomplished) artist. I have many concepts and ideas to do, but I need four or five brave souls to go through hell with me. One of my main influences is Marilyn Manson and I like the shock, concept album, image thing he does and would like to try some sort of Irish band along these lines. As far as music goes I compose a little and I am interested in making music in rhythmic beats, something like the songs SPADE or MObSCEAN where the beats correspond to Fibonacci numbers. So who’s up for it? Any more celebratarians out there? I need a guitarist, a drummer, a keyboard player and possibly a bass player, I sing and play bass but these can be worked out in due time.
If any of what I said went over your head please leave now, I want people who no what there doing and are interested in what I want to conceive.

    :v:

I'm liking your approach, dude. I used to play guitar in an Industrial/Metal band called Mute is Murder ( you may or may not have heard of it). Anyway, i'm not with them anymore. The only negative point i found with playing in an Industrial band is that it's generally a one man beast. Meaning that's it's the brainchild of only person who quite often finds it extremely difficult to cut the ombilical cord and let other people join in the creative process.

I'm based in Dublin so it might be a problem for jamming ( or not ). Have you got any recorded material?

I've got my own gear.(line 6 flextone III great for industrial stuff) Broadband internet ( you could mail your audio files in mp3 format) with multi-track recorder on my pc.

Anyway.. let me know what your thoughts are.

hey is there a good sound through the line 6 flextone III? it looks good..
am, i have a little bit done, hear and there, no full songs yet, just messin around with samples and making sounds, but its very hard when i dont have a keyboard to make something really cool! at least with the softwear i got off the net! any suggestions for good music making softwear? even better if its free!!!

I'll be willing to join you as a guitarist if needed. I'm in Kilcullen Kildare, I like the idea of "shock" rock. I like manson, gwar, murderdolls etc to an extent mostly because of the shows they put on. Crazy and eccentric but their like a car crash, you dont really want to watch, but you do anyway

ye i no what you mean! i love the whole shock thing to! its very cool, did you hear the story about manson and there early concert spilling cuts or chocolate over the crowd! well actually he got the croud to do it to them themselfs, it was very funny!! what age are you?

I'm 19, 20 in November, heard somethiing to that effect although the time when the security guard claimed manson put his genitals on his head was wuite funny too! I like the way people seem to over react to these types of bands too. any publicity even for the wrong reasons makes the bands ego somewhat sky-rocket...

i no what you mean! i love that though, id love to just shock the hell out of everyone and try wake them up from there media induced coma! everything is so filtered and manicured to look like perfect suberbia and it aint! it would be fun to freak everyone out and become icons for it!

I would recommend Cubase VST, fruity loops & Reason. None of them are free but you could probably get them using a file sharing ( P2P) software. ( bearshare or shareaza)

So anyway, whats the story? Do you want to start a band or do you wish to carry on by yourself?

To answer your question, yes, the Flextone III is a very versatile amp. Some people dislike the processed ( digital ) sound it generates. I find it can sound nearly as big as a valve amp if you find the right settings. Too many people rely on their set-up to make their sound. They forget that most of the tone comes from your left / right hand technique & attack.

Chaosangel: sounds good man, is gorey far from carlow, sorry, have no idea where that is!? what music you into? please tell me you like manson, or at least like the whole idea of that image and what it does!

Pusshead: i would really like to start a band but i think dublin is just a bit to far, i dont get up there to much and we'd need a bit more than that to really make a go of it.. plus im still on the lookout for more players, not found that many yet, so tell s what your thoughts are on this...
