Did anyone else hear anything about Direct Flights from Dublin to Bangkok with Aer Lingus opening soon? That would be excellent

It's rumoured that they are considering it. Nothing more at the moment though. They don't currently have the fleet to make provide that flight as with the addition of Dubai they are full stretch as it is.

If anything, it will be late this year before they start operating any more long-haul flights at least, depending on new aircraft arriving into the fleet.

Why? I don't think it would survive. Also, you'd be mad to fly for 12 hours with Aer Lingus. Stick with BA, Thai or the middle eastern airlines.

Well it depends - new planes mean new, up-to-date in flight entertainment systems, new seats etc...
