We were playing the 50quid 2.5k just there on pp.I raise to 300 and the small blind just limp I have 1010, no over cards whole way to river and he was flat calling me I put him on the flush as there was 2 hearts just after the flop but no heart to the river so I go all in for the 1500 or so I have left, he calls and throws over AA. Did I play it bad, he never raised me once and just flat called the whole way to the river ?

Any way ghol goes out like 2 mins later, he had aa and we all in v 99, and the dude hit the 9 on the river, next hand straight away he goes all in for 2.1k with AQ and gets called with AJ your man hits jack on flop.

Lol not a good night for the Irish :D

Your post isn't very clear but you had an overpair and went broke in a tournament where the stacks aren't very deep, probably you played it fine.

Oh im not complaining at all I find it funny, it's not damaged my roll in the slightest

    To clarify my post.

Its been folded around to me, I'm on the button. I raise making it 300 to go the blind are 50/100 the small blind flat calls me and the bb folds, we are heads up.

I'm holding 1010, the board comes up 5h, 2, 9h he checks I bet, he calls, turn comes up nothing, he checks i bet he calls, same again on river but I raise all my stack in, no cards on board over 10 and no more hearts on turn or river, I've put him on the flush draw, he throws over the rockets :(

Was just wondering if there is anything I could possibly have done different, I don't think so.

A flush draw is a very likely hand for him to have here, so the flop and turn are fine. So you could just check behind on the river, since he can't really call you with a missed flush draw. But I would prefer to bet, a standard Tribeca muppet could easily have something like K9 here and pay you off, I think in this tournament this is a good value bet.

You can probably check the river. If he has the flush draw that you suspect then he will fold, so there is no point in betting.

if u have him on a missed draw, u should check the river and give him a chance to bluff at the pot.......a lot will do that here with a missed flush draw.

he will only call your all in on the river here if u are beat, so its a poor bet.

He's last to speak, even the original post made that clear.

I still like bet instead of check behind, you are probably not being trapped on all 3 streets and at this level you might get paid off by top pair. Also you will be all in so you can't be raised. Easy check behind against a good player or if there is money left.

Yea, I was last to speak, He's a VERY poor player and has been in most of the hands on the night I've watched him bet out a pair of pocket 2's when the board had come A k x so I thought he was being weak.

My bad, live and let learn :D
