Channel 6 turns down bad Sky EPG slot

    No Sky launch for Ireland's Channel 6

    New Irish station Channel 6 has decided not to launch on Sky after failing to secure the slot it wanted.

    According to the Sunday Times, the channel wanted to be located on EPG 105 in Ireland, next to the four terrestrials and just ahead of Sky One.

    Sky, meanwhile, offered it a position at the bottom of the entertainment category, a move the channel believed would have "damaged the brand".

    The general entertainment service has already gained carriage on NTL and Chorus in the country, putting it in around 600,000 homes.
