Starts at 4:30...I'm going in but I don't think it is Omaha, tried that before and didn't get off the ground at all...

can anyone confirm if it's holdem or omaha?

There's definitely a NLHE game anyway. If there happens to be an Omaha game too, it'll run alongside it.

the stardard at this tourney is shocking. Was at the short-handed event today and some gob-sheens just have NO concept of betting e.g pots 500 checked to him and he bets 2000 to which I fold my 12 outer (nut flush draw and a belly buster) and he shows 55 for top set.Yes ladies and gentleman the NUTS for probably the worst play ive ever witnessed.

It must have been shocking, cos I chopped it with Andy.

Had more than a fair slice of luck on the final table to be honest on 2 hands especially, one which Rounders123 played to perfection but the river robbed him on counterfeited pocket 5's (3 kings were on the board)
So my full house played bigger.
That left Rounders very shortstacked and he bubbled a few minutes later.

When down to 3, my Q 10 sucked out on Crumbs QQ .
I had my own reasons for playing this hand (wrong as they turned out to be) and definitely got very lucky.

I'll post up the two hands on a different thread.

Yea the odd donkey in there. Still a great tourney though with starting stack and blinds etc. Didnt see anything decent for at least 25 hands and only had about 5,500 going into the break. Forced to go all in at the 300/600 with j,10 suited and ran into 6,6

I think "Shocking" is a little bit over the top, Oscar as far as I know orignally started this for people to gain some expirience and also get to play in a casino with some good players without having to risk to loosing too much money and this has to be kept in mind while playing, the standards been pretty good any time I've played it with the odd one or two inexperienced players

Yeah I think the average quality is very good. Alot of boardsies play aswell as other regular faces around Dublin. Obviously a few inexperienced players but they're there for the experience.

    It is a great tourney.

I was expecting to see Phil Helmuth and Andy Black playing, I mean, it's a €30 buy-in ffs.

I think we took €450 each after leaving a few quid for dealers. There 53 runners so €27*53 = €1430 I guess.

I was lucky though on two occassions on final table, will post the hands up soon, need coffee.

Well done Mick, you've had a great January! Hopefully it is only the opening salvo of an all out assault on poker in 2006 :) I only lasted two hours but it was a fun tournament for me yesterday.
