Revive a dead battery (from lack of use)?

I just tried to switch on my old nokia 3650 (haven't used it in about 6 months) to get some old files off it but found the battery (BL-5C) is now completely dead. Recharging it hasn't worked. It worked perfectly the last time I used it. (I'm assuming it's a battery problem and not a phone problem)

Unfortunately I don't have a spare battery at the moment, any ideas on a way to revive it?

Edit: Of course it would start working after I post (it has just started working after 4 hours charging) :)
