Arai Helmet - Where to buy?

Does anyone know where is the cheapest place to buy an Arai Astro helmet in Dublin?
Or even an Ebay shop that will ship to Ireland?
I've tried a few of them but they all seem to be up in the region 480 euro just for a plain black one which I want...
Any advice would be appreciated..

i wouldnt be too hopeful of hte price droppin by much, arai's are the brand name in helmets. cant' help you on the dublin problem but if you end up in cork they sell them in ross's and lee's

Crossans up the north will send them here. If you can make it North go to their shop or Hein Gericke in Newry. Crossans Hein-Gerickeactually looking at their prices €480 here was a good deal - theres something f**ked up in this country with regards to VAT on helmets, which makes them more expensive than the UK. Or.. hold out for the Motorcycle show in RDS beginning of March. Or eBay like you said.

Great helmet too, have an Astro R Schwantz rep myself, twas 100 notes more than what I gave for my old AGV XR-2, which I loved but the ARAI is a different league altogether.

I believe the reason helmets are more expensive here then in the UK is because in Ireland you pay VAT while in the UK they are VAT exempt.

There is lobbying by groups like MAG to get the government to stop charging VAT as there are vital safety equipment and not just an ordinary consumer item.

Why not go to a shop and try on the helmets and once you find what you want and the correct size, order it in an ebay shop. A lot of the ebay shops that deal in helmets have a huge selection and high feedback so it'd be completly safe.

Give Cotters a shout, I bought my Astro Race from them 18 months ago and it only cost 325 euro, it was an offer at the time but he might have something similar

I bought my Arai Tour-X from Ernie Coates (Belfast) at the RDS show a coupla years ago. Literally saved hundreds on the regular price here. If you can do it, I'd strongly advise you wait to buy at the show.....or get one of the UK shops to ship to you. A few seem to provide that service for free.

The bike show is on in march, wait til then. I put an arai RX7 cosair helmet at the bike show last year for €500 there, it retails at about €725-€750 in the shops. And i picked up a tinted visor for €30, instead of €75ish!

They have the Arai Condor for £220 (€320) which i was quoted €580 for in Bikeworld. All the Arai's seem to be equally as cheap compared to elsewhere.
