Unsure if this is the right forum so apols if not. Is it possible to view files/videos from pc on tv screen, i.e. hook the tv up to the pc? what do I need to do so?

yea super easy. this is really popular right now in the media center market (htpc, home theatre PC) here is a link that should work, might not cause yahoo is crappy with their links http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/051214/20051214005365.html?.v%3D1 . Anyway you need to connect your pc video card to one of your TV's input so if your video card came with an S-video port than all you need to do is plug that into the TV's video in.

Make sure you set it up right becuase I once done that with a Signal Sender, and the TV was in a different room, and I activated the number 2 screen, therefore deactivating the number 1 screen and lost picture on the monitor, and the display was in a different room

It was lots of fun trying to get it back to normal, I'll tell ya

But if the TV is in the same room this won't be a problem as you will be able to see the TV Screen and the computer controls at the same time

Here, its sort of funny, I don’t know if any of you have read this article or seen it on TV, but its NBC valentines solution for being non-confrontational with your lover… yea I don’t get it either. Here’s the link for those of you who haven’t seen it, here - http://www.nbc24.com/Global/story.asp?S=4316008

and never plug the cable into or out of the tv while its on. a mate of mine broke his monitor that way. the display shrunk to about one inch square. he still used it like that for a day or two :D

Interesting, perhaps thats what happened to my Tv.

All of the scart and rgb connections on the tv give a scrolling picture for all devices connected to it. I had a licenced tech take a look at it and he couldn't find any fault with it. It was all quite puzzling.

If the screen is scrolling your sync is out of, well sync.

Possibly the TV @ 50Hz and the output from the video card is at @60Hz

No, It was fine with the pc for a while but now if you connect a VCR, DVD player, game console, video camera, whatever to its scart or rgb connections it scrolls.

    Ah, I see.

So this happens on all SCART connectors, or is there just a single one?

Sounds to me like its an NTSC/PAL problem.

    What make/model TV is it?

Have you checked the system setup in the menu, make sure its configured for Europe/PAL.

And if it isnt , ask that licenced tech for your money back :-)
