    Hi guys...
    i have 5 or 6 books of information and i want to transfer all of the data in it to a database... Its all in Hand writing..
    I was wondering do any of you whizz kids know if there is software capable of transfering the same fields to a database that i would set-up...
    Rather than doo a lot of typing...

    So you want handwriting recognition, data catagorisation and possibly metadata generation, and all automatic?

    I'm going to guess that there is nothing like that out there...

    Have a look at SimpleOCR or see this google search The SimpleOCR one is kinda okay but the handwriting must not be joined. It's OCR works for typed text but it must be scanned perfectly and correction swill be needed. Abbyy finereader is the best text OCR I have ever came across. It's not free though. I'd say whatever route you take you will still have loads of typing to do :( Try voice recognition software to give those digits a break!
