    Hi,

I'm having some major problems with my PC atm. It's a self build about 3 years old. Heres the spec:

    AMD 64 (754s) 3000+
    1Gb Twin-Mos PC 3200 RAM
    9800xt 256Mb
    Samsung Spin Point 160Gb
Audigy Sound card and the usual CD/DVD drives...

Anyway, I've nenver had any problems until recently. I now get random lockups in SWAT4 while playing online, no warning nothing just a crash only resolved by a hard restart. I have since reformatted (twice!) only to have a repeat of the problem.

    What i have done:
1)Ran prime 95 (Torture test) for 6 hours with no errors
2)Used Actice Smart to monitor my HD, no errors reported, except fluctuating temps (max about 23 Degres)
3)Removed all the dust from the case, idle temps of around 30
4)Ran memtest yesterday for about 40 minutes, it passed twice. However, left it on today with the intention of giving it 5 hours to run and it stalled after 20 Minutes!

    Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

it could be your memory alright, try it in a different machine.

Or it could be that swat 4 is buggy

I was running SWAT for about 5 months with no problems at all...

Also my usually silent(ish) HDD is making some loud read/write noises!

    A) Stop playing Swat4.
    B) GFX card over heating.

Could be insufficent power to the card also, had this on my old 9700, basically i had a plug from and adaptor on the power flew, when i plugged a connector from the PSU without any adaptor it worked fine.

3 questions, does happen only on swat4? and is it always online?, whats single player like, does it hang?

I've a Tagan 380w PSU. Which has been running the card fine for about a year.

I dont really play many other graphic intensive game but it did seam fine on FM 2006. Yeah i only play it online, I'll check single player now.

It did hand once while i was going into All Programs in the start menu.
