i am 17,(female) and recently a few of my friends have gone to this local fortune teller, who seems to know quite a lot about their past, which i find really scary but also quite amazing. I am really tempted to try this guy out myself, but i am kind of uneasy about the whole thing. should i go? i cant get the idea out of my head! I have very little knowledge of the paranormal, i barely read my horoscope every week!!! any suggestions from ppl older and wiser?? my mam seems to think its "a bit of craic!"

The way I'd see it is that if you feel uneasy about it, then why bother doing it ? Imo, it's the kind of thing you should just do out of interest or curiosity, or for a bit of craic. If your unease outweighs that, and you don't think you'll enjoy it, then why bother, I don't think there's really a lot else to gain from it.

On the other hand, there isn't really a huge amount to be uneasy about, the worst that can come of it is that you'll worry too much about what is said, and try to base your life around it. Some people do become obsessed with their 'fortunes' and I think that's a pretty negative thing, so if you think you'd be inclined to that happening you really should stay away, if not then I don't think there's anything to worry about.

    older and wiser??

Come on you're 17 not 7, how old do you think we all are??

Anyway i suggest you do it, but go in prepared to just have a laugh, if you get something good out of it brilliant. I've never heard of a fortune teller giving bad news no matter what they see, must be a case of "if you cant say anything nice dont say anything at all"

oh and welcome to the boards!
