Im moving away soon and wont have a stereo system so Im looking to get travel speakers for use with my zen vision:M. I know nothing about this kind of thing!

Ive seen some for the likes of the zen micro were it actually docks into the speakers. Dont think theres anything like this for the vision:M yet. Anywho, im looking for something thats loud as its gonna be used as my main music system and hopefully something that isnt mad pricey. Any advice ?

[edit] they arent actually for traveling a such so the title should read "MP3 player speakers! :)"

To be honest, you're probably better off spending your money on a decent stereo system and plugging the MP3 player into the line-in on that.

I'd imagine Creative will bring out a range of traveldock speakers for the Zen Vision:M at some stage in the near future.

Cant afford a stereo system and all my music is on my mp3 player anyway. I dont have any cds anymore so it would be a bit pointless to get a stereo system.

Okay how about a set like these...

The sound quality out of them is great, they're pretty loud, and the remote control receiver box can be plugged into your Zen, so that you can control both the speakers and the MP3 player with the remote control...

They retail for around the €149 mark.

They look fantastic but I dont have 150...I also need to bring them on a plane and that base speaker looks pretty massive!

    The remote looks nice though.

In fairness I don't think your gonna get Hi Fi sound and portability all in one. If you want the former then get a 2.1 system as has been suggested, if you want something small enough to carry around then have a look at the Creative TravelSound range. Excellent sound for the size of them but they'll always be lacking base compared to a full size set.

PS paddylonglegs - your name always makes me smile :)
PPS I'm not tryin to come on to you btw!

I took that as a come-on Muck, why oh why can't I just have a peaceful time on boards without people coming on to me all the time!?hehe

Ok could be a bit big for a plane but will you be travelling around the whole time?I thought you said you'll be staying in a place? If this is the case then a decent enough sound should be sought after.Plus if its trouble to carry them them first time you go over then maybe consider getting speakers when youre over there?

If you're gonna be staying put for a while then don't sacrifice good sound over mobility/size of unit.

I have to agree with the advice here. If your going to use them as your main source of music and you want them loud your just not going to get that from a travel set of speakers.
Your best just to buy a set of speakers when you get to where your going. At around the €150 mark, even less depending on where you buy it, the JBL Encounters are an excellent purchase. They look cool too.

i have a pair of Creative Vivid 80. Not really a travel set thou, but nice design and decent sound with my iRiver H10. You need a power outlet as it is not battery powered. Got it from peats for €40, it sounds nicely especially accoustic type music eg. Jack Johnson and Katie Melua. Clear and clarity is good for that price, however I find it a bit lack of bass and too much treble.
