Mini Infantry League

This could be fun for all interested. We are hoping to run a 6 v 6 mini league. This would encompass tig.bf2 players, 1st IB, GFF, ASCII etc any clan that would be interested. Also it would be nice for boards.ie to field a couple of teams.

It will be a league format with everyone playing everyone else on each of the following maps:

Oman 16
Sharqui 16
Karkand 16
Masthurr 16

The rules would be no commanders, no c4 and no vehicles. Post here if interested, and if in a clan post the clan name.

A clan can enter as many teams as it wants, ie tig team1, tig team2 etc but please ensure that you have enough players to play. Matches will be on a Sunday night and will be hosted on the TiG match server as long as no other clan games are planned.

Not really, think his was more of a try out the classes tbh. You hadda stick to one in it. This is more can be any class you want. Just no C4 :rolleyes: cuz be ppl placin em over flags so cant cap em etc.

Would the infantry mod be in use or would we just be using the original game, because for some reason i cant get the infantry mod installed. :mad:

Sounds good. I`ll put it to the 1st-IB lads. We havent played any bf2 cometitive matchs we are primarally still a BFV clan. But off the top of my Head we should have at least 4 didicated bf2 players anyway if not more. I asume it would be ok if we recruited some boardsies to make the short fall. That and id say there would be more than 6 bosrdsies wanting to play. There are still a lot of lone wolf as it where on this forum. I asume this would appaly to every one.

I could edit my post at start to include the teams. But there would be boards teams for people not in the clans & if any clans short they could prob get a few.

I'm up for it but we'll need to refine to rules a bit the teams would need to be a bit larger like maybe make it ten a side and use a 32 player map?
i agree with no commanders as it would basically wipe out the new teams when against even our newly formed team but c4 is a weapon that is as much anti infantry as anti armour i don't use it myself but i think it is something that should not be omitted

The reason for the smaller teams is that they work well in infantry only. A lot of the major gaming competions use Inf only now. Clanbase, etc. The recent Cosair Cup was a prime example of how well it works. It was 5 v 5 which suit the smaller maps I listed above.

So if organising this it would be with Clan Base rules in mind which mean no commander, no vehicles and definately no C4.

With C4 in , flags would be basically to hard to cap with C4 plastered all around em. Would make the game a bit dull imo. If it could be limited till outside the flag radius it would be cool, but tbh, ya couldnt regulate it so would needa be all or nothin. If ya must , ya could go engie & use mines then chuck a nade at em. Least u gotta be near the action insteada halfway across the map.

As for 10 v 10, you can enter 2 teams of 6 if ya got the numbers like, or more. Will be a few boards teams & few tig teams. Dunno about the rest if they can manage a second team or what.

Basically I'm trying to organise a good fun competition with nothing but kudos and fun as prizes.

Each clan can enter one or more teams and once teams are organised a roster will be drawn up. Boards.ie can also enter a number of teams if non clan member guys can get organised. I'll leave it for about 10 days to see who is interested and take if from there.

The comp will be 6 v 6, however if you can only get 4 people and dont mind playing against a team of 5 or 6 then fine. I'll make it a point to make match demos etc available and also to have all matches broadcast by our scorebot so that other people can watch.

Not necessarily, however should have some association with boards.ie so as long as a clan member posts here its all good. Dont want to make any hard or fast rules as the more rules the less fun.

mmm , not sure what way gonna gonna do this. Thinkin they'd have to be commited till one team like. Ie, if ya got 2 teams together at all they couldnt be swappin about. Also if say couple of the clans have a extra couple but not enough till field a full team, couple could join together prob, or jump on boards team??
