we had a go at this last year and well, at least we were right about Liverpool :)

I have a crap load of stuff trapsing around in my noggin, if I can get it down on paper I'd feel a lot better.
in de news/politics: Something big is going to happen this year. I know thats so general it could be anything but like John Titor said (in relation to 2009), it will be the year when the american people realise they are at war. sillly I know. It would be really obvious of me to say that there will be assasination attemtps and resignations, as there most likely will be. (we all just wish it was Bush)
Things of note are obviously the situation with Iraq and consequently America, although I doubt you need to be psychic to forsee how that all pans out. (watch the politics board) Russia is getting itself ready to move too. (but not immediately)
celebrity:Gaybo will take a short break, possibly due to illness (or maybe he will fall off his bike) but the man will probably be around till he's 100.
sports:Clare will knock Waterford out of the Munster/Ireland hurling championships (don't even know if the draw has been made)
Won't even go down the FA scandal road.
other stuffI might come back to this later.

So anyway, give us your predictions for 2006, no matter how eh...ludicrous.

For some really odd reason, once I read the title of your thread I thought - orange shortage. I know that it makes no sense but anyway I will put it down.

I think there will be some nature of shortage of oranges and this will bump up the price of same significantly in the supermarkets.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 515 ✭✭✭daithimac

maybe it could be related to riots in Dublin after a orange march is held there and there is subsequently a shortage of member's in the orange order:D

I don't know very much about the stock market but I do remember that the trading or oranges is very significant. ( I think I learned that from trading places) Interesting.

Even more interesting with Wickys post. I am sure that I never heard anything about this before, and it is not the type of thing that makes massive news so I doubt I could have heard it there. Was just a feeling I got the second I saw the title. Anyway, if I get any more feelings I will post them and people can laugh at me ;)

Its possible he intended it to be so idiotic, and therefore a further jab at predicition fraudsters.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

It's possible that you just come on here to anatgonise people and make no contribution of any worth. It is also possible that I was making a further jab at people who are not open to any kind of new ideas at all and dismiss things they cannot explain off hand without giving any real thought to it. Preferring to refer to people who, as often as accepted and respected analysts, make quite accurate predictions without any scientific backup as fraudsters.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,371 ✭✭✭✭Zillah

The only people I was refering to as fraudsters were the fraudsters. I think its a bit ironic to unfairly dismiss someone as close minded while ignoring the evidence to the contrary.

And that in particular makes it very clear to me that you have no idea what you're talking about.

Actually Zillah, I think T4TF is probably referencing (Although I won't speak for him) your tendency to pop up in threads with needly little remarks that contribute nothing to the discussion or the forum except the slight chance that it will be taken up wrong and antagonise people. Which is all you actually seem to do here.

1 - I was responding to your, randomn off topic comment.

2 - I contest that there is a history of such "needly" comments, and I think you've imagined that simply because you and I don't get along.

Aside from the Mysteria debaucle (failure all round tbh), my contributions are quite fair.

As for the claim that I contribute nothing, I think thats very unfair. I often share a good bit of knowledge on the paranormal, on a number of subjects.

Frankly I feel this is all more of your anti sceptic pogrom.

    Zillah wrote:

Yes, but its the motive of the reply that raises eyebrows.

Anyway, enough of this. I think T4TF has a valid point (and he raised it, not me). Take that whatever way you like. Stop posting the needling commenst and you won't have to worry about T4TF or myself. Discussion over.

In each case I said possibly which is exactly what you did with your previous response, I did not dismiss you or your contribution to the forum rather I suggested, albeit without explicitly saying, that it was not wholly motivated by your interest in the paranormal. I also did not accuse you of having a closed mind, if you will take issue with a post please take issue with what it says and not what you think it says.

And im the one accused of making needly posts? I think this is all very unfair behaviour. Especially considering you're mods.

Hang on a sec, I am not breaching the charter, just making observations based on what I have seen on the forum in the past while and on people who debunk paranormal in general without any kid of supporting evidence to the contrary. There is not an attack on your or your character and no slight intended, just a different viewpoint. As regards not liking you, I don't know about psi, but I doen't know and have had no dealings with you.

Anyway my duties here are purely ceremonial.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,371 ✭✭✭✭Zillah

Your cryptic implication mongery serves little purpose other than to aggravate. If you have a point, please make it in a manner that can be understood.

I follow the point you are making, but I disagree. That is not the intention behind my points. Whatever implications you think i am making, I DO NOT have the opinion that the paranormal should all be debunked and its not a fair point.

Specifically, my point in this thread genuinely was a reply to Psi. I honestly have no opinion on future prediction, I know nothing about it, comparatively.

    WILL LIVERPOOL WIN THIS YEAR

HOW WILL TIPP DO IN THE HURLING/ FOOTBALL

I honestly don't really know, but you could give it a guess yourself.
Based on last years results, Liverpool had a whole lot going for them and seemingly the superstition of the pool fans won out. According to my sources, the last time the scenario occured liverpool retained the title in paris the following year, so as many fans are hoping for the same outcome. I wouldn't put my money on it though, but y'never know ;)
As for Tip, my own ref to the championship is based on the fact that the Waterford hurlers are knackered and it would be fitting for clare to knock them out. Tip have a strong team, I'd like to see them do well in the hurling.

Gaillimhtaibhse sits in lotus fashion before crystal ball. Ponders 2006. The myst clears momentarily.
The North: Catholics continue to add to their lead in population growth over Protestants. Talks of a referendum continue to emerge, but none is taken and conditions pretty much remain the same.
Iraq: The USA remains stuck in Iraq. Although the war was proclaimed as won by Bush long ago, the death toll continues to climb well above the original deaths occurring in the first offensive. Americans become increasingly disaffected with the "won war."
British Monarchy: Another scandal occurs with one of Charles's and Dianna's offspring (but we will not say who, just now, and spoil the fun).
Price of Oil: In spite of occasional dips, the price of oil contiues to climb during the course of 2006, as well as record profits for the oil companies. Increased demand from rapidly industrialising China and India, drives the trend, as does the occupying army of former oil man Bush.
Smog from excess vehicle emissions clouds the crystal ball and Gaillimhtaibhse gives up attempting to see the future.

I'll do the moderating thanks. Many posters have clarified the nature of their predictions.

I think its noticable that the majority of posters here have given predictions of discussed them.
A small minority(oh ehh oh two?) are more interested in passing remarks and poking. Lets keep to the predictions please.

in paranormal it gives everybody the oppertunity to participate without having to claim psychic powahs while it does not negate the proposal of psychic predictions which may be included.

I've been kinda thinking this year will be a relativly good one international politics wise. I think the whole middle east thing will start to calm down a bit, and everyone will step back from the abyss. We'll probably see a pretty big withdrawal from Iraq with the US claiming victory, altough there'll still be problems there allowing arguments in internet forums to continue unabated. Things'll no doubt start picking up again towards the end of the year though (Nov/Dec).

(judging by my past predictions we should start preparing for WW3)

I think it'll be a quite year on the hurrican front, noticeably below average, but I can't help thinking there'll be some kind of unusuall natural disaster. Quite possibly a meteor strike (not a 'planet-killer' though, more of a 'small-town' killer). More mundane possibilities may be a yellowstone park eruption or the big quake that's supposed to hit the western US at some stage.

I was only thinking lately how calm and peaceful I've been feeling. It might have a lot to do with no longer moderating this forum :v: but I'm suspicious of such calmness.
either way, long may it last.
