That all seems ok except two things imho:
"Self dealt until last 2 tables"
and 20 minute blinds. To be honest, that would put me off playing in it completelt, especially in what is effectively a 400 STERLING game. Thats what, about 600 euro with a reg fee of 30 euro and no dealer?

Not trying to rain on your parade but its honest feedback from me.

Yeah sonetti the 20 minute blinds and lack of dealers would seriously put me off playing in this tournament. 20 minute blinds is fast enough anyway, for this sort of buy in it should be 30 minimum, and the lack of dealers will slow this down even further. Great idea though, if you can just sort out dealers and a slightly longer clock I'll definitely travel up to play more often. I don't think people would mind paying an extra bit on the reg for dealers, and there shouldn't be any problem training in a few poor students for minimum wage!

yeah, 7k starting chips and a 30min clock and dealers would make this a pretty cool tournie. I thought the Cavendish had dealers...?

The trouble is with 7k/10k, 30 min blinds the game wont be over until well after 6am.......

I'll have a word though and post back here.

I must say that I'd get quite nervous of such a large buy in tournament (say 300 sterling average spend = nearly 450 yoyos) with self deal, even apart from the lessening of hands/hour or level that self deal brings.

Expertise in card manipulation is rare and extremely difficult to learn, it's not something I would ever worry about because any selfdeal tournament is almost always both of a small buy in and probably a crapshoot. This tournament would appear to be neither.

If I could manipulate a deal I'd certainly be interested in the largest buyin selfdeal tournament I've ever heard of. :)

I think there's been a few polls on the subject here (I believe Shortstack had one up recently enough) and there seemed a clear preference for an increase in reg fee to cover dealers rather than a small reg fee and self deal. I think the poker playing population has become quite aware of both costs involved in having a good service and the benefits it brings and are happy to pay.

You have a point, but it would go much quicker with dealers.

For that buy-in you would expect dealers at every table full-stop. Not to have dealers is simply ridiculous.

Just an update no dealers for this month, we will have in our end of March special.. We're still trying to decide how big the starting stacks will be, either 7k or 10k.. with a 10k or 15k add-on/rebuy & 30 minute blinds..

First hand of tournament will be at 6pm.. not 8pm as stated in the previous message :)
