Annoying Resolution Problem

    Hi,
The problem I am experiencing is annoying more than anything else.
I have my desktop resolution set to 1280*1024 but when I start up the PC it will first be 1280*768 and then after
a few seconds it will change to my desired resolution.
I believe it changes when the ATI icon loads up in the system tray.

I have XP, a Radeon x700 and a Dell W1900 monitor. I know this little problem can be fixed because I fixed it before
but I just can't remember how.

A quick bump before it disappears off the page. :)

sorry for asking but ive been tryin to figure out wat "bump" means, like does it mean that ur gonna close the thread or something but that dosent make sense. i see it in the for sale section aswell. im stupid i know i jus wana know at it means.

a bump is used to bring the thread up to the top of the list of threads in each forum.

EAch time a post is made to a thread, that thread moves to the top of the list. But if no posts are made to a thread, then posts in other threads will slowly push it down the list of threads. So to get the thread to reappear at the top, the OP (original poster) can "bump" the thread, usually by justing creating a post saying "bump".

Just be aware that in the For Sale forums you can only bump a few times and you have to leave a few days between bumps. Excessive bumping can get you banned. (Happened to a guy last week who bumped a thread every 15 mins)

Sounds like the Ati Control Center/Panel has the resolution set to one setting while the Windows setting is set to a a different setting. The Ati control panel takes a while to load, so the PC uses the Windows setting until Ati overrides this.

I'd set the Windows setting to match the setting in Ati. To do this, right click on Desktop and select properties. Select Settings tab and the use the slider to set the resolution. See if that works.
