Flopping a hi-lo straight draw or a flush draw

Whats your play here? Generally I bet the draw from any position. One of the big weaknesses in my game comes when i miss on the turn. I really find myself in no-mans land from all positions. UTG, a continuation bet takes down the pot enough % of the time for it to be a +EV move for me. Late position when unraised the same thing is also true. I find it hard to play when there is a bet put in before me that doesnt give me pot odds or else a reraise over the top...

    Advice?

    Thanks.

If your not getting the correct pot odds to call, then you fold. However based on your opponent try and think about your implied odds on top of this. If you think you can stack the guy, or win a much more sizeable pot if you hit then you could possibly call. Basically it all depends on the implied odds you think you are getting.

Think of what your opponent has and what he might be afraid of, if he has an obvious big pair on a scary drawing board and you have second pair you can draw to any of the scare cards and any of your actual outs. This can be risky because you have to be playing against the calibre of player who is bad enough not to realise what you might be up to but good enough to recognise danger. Plus if he's a good player he might be betting the same draw you are going to try to use to push him off the pot. Its risky as I said but it can be VERY profitable.

On a board of 568 two spades with you holding 6To in late position to an early raise and a raise on the flop you can call a pot bet on the flop looking for any straight or flush card or 6 or T to beat what is probably over cards or an over pair. You're read is critical here, and its risky but the rewards are 2-3 big bets from him (make sure he's left with enough to fold!).

This is why some good players play with trash in late position against players who they can put on a precise and narrow range of hands.

If you only play the pot odds, you will lose over time because better players are playing the pot odds and making some moves like that.
    (Dave O'C for example, a total **** for that... :) )

So, just to be sure on what you mean, say a 3rd card to the straight/flush comes out, then you can take a guy with an overpair off his overpair(based on notes or whatever) as he'll be scared you were calling his raise with a draw?
