Technical Q- I think the Digibox CAM or Viewing Card is on the blink

Recently i have often been receiving "There is a problem with your viewing card" messages by my digibox. I added ARY digital a few weeks ago and got the message when the activation signal was sent. Today then I was dusting the digibox and when I dusted around the card I got the message again! I usually fix it by removing the card and putting it back in - and the card goes to the initialising new viewing card screen and then the channel comes back. What I want to know is, should I be on the look out for a new digibox?

Might be just the switch at back of slot. Make sure card fully in, then a dab of blutack to stop it sliding loose!

Stick a bit of tack on just at the card slot? Thanks

same question here. I have a similar problem.

My UK card works fine in my subscription digibox. Do the overnight trick. no problem.

    In my other box;
An old second hand non sub digibox, it says :
"There is a problem with your viewing card"

Can I reboot the old box or something ?

My says that on any premium channel. I don't care as I have none. It's because the card is not married to box (replacement digibox). I could ring sky with box and card details and it would be fixed.

Does not interfere with any mix pack channels.

the UK FTV card doesn't have to be married I think.

if I ring SKY won't they ask me what I'm doing with a UK card ?

    problem solved.

many thanks to Tony who showed me.

    unplug box.
    remove card.
press backup button on box and hold it in.
keeping holding while you plug box back in.
    4 lights come on.
    release backup button
the box goes into an updating mode.
10 minutes later the box is updated.
    put back in card.

    happy days.

So it's nothing to do with the card or CAM, just messed up software??

no not at all as all the FTV channels come up, all i get in my digibox on the like of any premium channel is "This card is in the wrong set top box"
any other channels just show the info banner about the channel.
