Wondering if anyone can tell me which are the most successful/biggest advertising compaines within Ireland and the Uk I'm considering it as a future career choice and want to know which companies I should be aiming to get in with, and what further skills i'll need to get a job with them

There is loads of ad agencies around, check out:
http://www.iapi.ie/members/members-list.htm

What you need to do is think what area you want to work in, eg PR, sales, TV, radio, online etc, then look at specific agencies in those sectors.
