Looks sweet. The profile of the sidepods from the looks very sleek. btw Orange is the winter testing colour, >McLarens original livery.

car will prob still be mostly silver ref (sliver arrows) with the red of Johnny Walker and more red of Vodafone later this year.

Personally, I think it looks ugly. Though, having said that, I think just about every F1 car of the past 5 years or so has looked ugly.

The cars these days have way too many aerodynamic pieces (winglets, turning vanes, extra wings to give a little more downforce here and there) sticking out all over the bodywork, completely destroying the clean, sleek lines that a racing car is supposed to have. The FIA keep coming up with new regulations to cut downforce and make the cars slower (and therefore presumably safer) and all the teams do to counteract that is just stick more and more bits all over the cars to gain back that downforce. I wish the FIA would come up with a regulation that says the only wings an F1 car are allowed to have are a front nose wing and a rear wing and all other aerodynamic bits are banned. Then the cars might actually go back to looking like proper racing cars.

Look at the cars from the mid-late '80's/early '90's onwards to about 1999 or so. They looked a lot sleeker with clean, uncluttered lines. Little or no bits sticking out all over the place destroying the look of the cars. Post-'98 or '99 or so, they started sprouting all sorts of crap to improve the aerodynamics/downforce and completely destroying the looks.

Okay, okay, I know some people will say "Well, F1 cars aren't built to look sexy, they're built to be quick and anything that makes them go faster, even if it makes a car look pig-ugly, is a necessary evil that you just have to accept." Fair enough, I can understand that, but oh how I long for the days of the likes of the Jordan 191 (in my opinion, the best looking F1 car of all time), the Williams FW14 to FW17, the early '90's McLaren's and Benettons. Cars that looked like proper racing cars with no "winglets" or crap stuck all over them spoiling their sleek lines. :(

So much for "progress", eh?

    i agree with aidan dunne.
I reckon the best looking car was the 1998 mclaren (mp4 13, i think) the mclaren 1999 car was cool too.
I also like the orange mclaren, but the silver is better.
does anyone here watch the IRL, I love the indy racing league. tony kannan should win it, i guess.
