Don't want an slr, been looking at a bridge camera...

    Between these 4...

    Sony R1 €749

    Samsung Pro 815
    €699

    Fuji S9000 €549

    Kodak P880 €455

Now they all get great reviews, the sony being the best thing since sliced bread... Fantastic review everywhere.

Price is a factor, I like the sony cause it seems to be the best of the best, the samsung cause of its screen, the fuji cause its feels like an slr(although the zoom ring aint the best) and the kodak cause of its price, features, 24mm and i have a docking station for it already....

Anyone got any of the above or any thoughts??

I think the fuji is an update on the S602, if so I can definatly recomend it. I have been using the S602 for 4 - 5 tears and itis a great little camera with fully manual functions, easy to use also.

YOu can also get converter lenses to make it telephoto or wide angle.

Having said all that I havent used any of the others.

I'm like Adrian, gone from a 602 to the 9000/9500, and I'm delighted with it. Also it's always a bonus if you can use AA batteries instead of any packs, though don't know if the others are AA.

Personally I would guy for the Fuji...but then that is beacuse I did.

The only fault I have found is the lack of a battery level meter, you simply get a low battery warning then it randomly turns off shortly after that. Though carrying a second set of batteries makes this only a minor annoyance. I get approx 200 - 225 shots from a single set of 2500mAh ni-mh batteries (most without flash and a large portion with lcd as I usually use a tripod aswell). If you are going to use rechargeables it can only be ni-mh....apparently li-ion and ni-cd will cause damage.

Dual memory slots is a plus aswell.

Seems to be allot of Fuji heads about.. Sony has dual slot too(memory stick n CF).. Then again its €200 more.

I wouldn't call myself a Fuji head at all. It was simply the most bang for my euro at the level I was buying. I wanted something decent, but didnt want to get a D-SLR. Hard to turn down 9mp and 28-300mm lens for 600 or so euros.

Also, I have a dislike of sony products, so the Sony compertitor was never in the running for me.

The kodak n the fuji get very similar reviews.. very little between them.. main difference is the kodaks wide lens n the fuji's zoom.. Arrrgghhhh!!! Its impossible

Ross, I thought you were happy with the one you were suggesting to me? Are you selling it by any chance? I smashed the LCD on the one I got in the end:(
